A jewelry designer, botanical skincare expert, and Kundalini yoga instructor, Sarah Richey is constantly searching for inspiration in the world around her.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tenn., Richey knew from a young age that she had a creative calling. She attended Belmont University and majored in Studio Art. An internship with a fine jeweler solidified her passion for making jewelry.
Chasing her dream to New York City, Richey launched her first line of jewelry in 2008. Her collection debuted at various tradeshows, and then was picked up by luxury retailers around the country. Today, her jewelry can be spotted in high-end magazines and on celebrities including Taylor Swift, Faith Hill, and Kelly Clarkson. Her close-knit team continues to work out of her studio in New York City to create the handmade items.
Described as delicate and modern, sexy but elegant, each piece of jewelry Richey designs is wearable art. Inspired by elements of nature and spirituality, she has established a recognizable aesthetic focused on gemstones and fossils. Richey draws inspiration from her own experiences and world travels for each piece. Drawing on the strong desire to create an organic elegance, she sources natural materials from across the globe. Each stone is consciously handpicked, and holds the vibration of each healing property.
Richey believes it's not just what we adorn our bodies with that alters how we look, but also our state of mind. This led Richey to begin studying, practicing, and teaching Kundalini Yoga in Australia, as well as studying herbal medicine and receiving her certificate in Theta healing in Bali.
While living in Bali, Richey was introduced to a number of healing herbs. For centuries Balinese people have used a wide range of native plants and herbs for therapeutic, medicinal, and health-enhancing purposes. Under the mentorship of an herbalist in Ubud, Richey started her own apothecary line of all-natural and organic products infused with crystals, essential oils, and floral and herbal elements.
“I wanted to find a natural skincare line that would help clear my skin and make it glow,” Richey says. “I couldn't find it anywhere and what I did find had chemicals in it. So I decided to study and make my own products. I saw such great results I had to share!”
Each botanical or gem for a jewelry piece is carefully selected with an understanding of its innate healing powers, and is merged with others to harmoniously nourish, rejuvenate, and heal our bodies. Everything Richey touches is intuitively created to activate and enhance the beauty, radiance, and vitality inherent within us.
